RMT
Is there anyway to hurt these bastards? Seem to cause disruption under the guise of protecting workers. I absolutely hate them.

How dare people stand up for themselves, what are they thinking? They should just shut up and get on with it, that's the Tory way isn't it?

Good of these greedy cunts not to disrupt the whole country over 1%. Caved in pretty quickly there.

Re: RMT
Bollocks I don't. Railtrack and the train operators are separate entities. The rail operators bid regularly to renew their franchise. Some (e.g. First Great Eastern) walk away because they are absolute shite. Some, like Virgin, actually improve the rolling stock and then charge a fucking fortune for it. Others, like Abellio do nothing but milk the commuters by sticking the prices up and investing fuck all. Railtrack have the infrastructure side and receive some public funding and some through central allocation of season ticket money. It is interesting that delays caused by railtrack to the operators result in "fines" which are reimbursed to mug punter by way of delay repay schemes. However the cost of these "fines" is paid for by said mug punter by way of increased fares. So whichever way you cut it the increase in fares in no way reflects the increases in costs or alleged investment in many cases. Commuting from the south or east into London adequately demonstrates this fact. The only exception being the high speed into ST Pancras which was made a special case so they could charge more than the restricted price increase.
My point was and is happy to pay reasonable increases for improved services. Not happy to pay increases which are wasted or simply divested into profit. As we come out of recession most would feel entitled to a pay rise out of increased revenues and I don't begrudge the RMT members a reasonable slice of that. I do begrudge Train Operators and Railtrack for increasing the cost to me at a rate agreed by Central Government above inflation with absolutely no demonstrable improvement in service for the last 20 years or more. They are cunts.

Nice to see you have zero understanding of the way the railway system is set up.

I'm not sure what train line you use but almost ALL have rolling stock newer than 20 years old and Network Rail have nothing to do with your ticket prices and are not a private company and the money goes back into the infrastructure which is improving all the time.

Re: RMT
They might be stone age unionist cunts. There employers are also cunts. My season ticket goes up around 5% p.a. I have seen no new rolling stock in 20+ years. The journey time is no quicker than when they had steam trains and the corporate attitude to a captive audience is shit.
I think that offering staff 1% pay rise in those circumstances is fucking insulting when the money is clearly going nowhere but into profits and boardroom bonuses whilst the rolling stock and infrastructure deteriorates.

Re: RMT
Yes, I am clueless to the inner workings of Network Rail. I am clueless on the day to day running of railways, but I'm not clueless about customer service at stations, delays, poor services and constant line problems.

And those those greedy bosses raking in 40%, scum, absolute scum.

Re: RMT
I work for network rail and I can tell you now the strike will get called off they will cave in to much disruption over 1% to 2% pay rise which is a drop in the ocean to them considering the top brass gave themselves a 40% pay rise this year . And if the politicians can have an 11% hike I'm sure no one can begruge us a 2% pay rise.

Vexed the reason our network is not as good as the European networks is the volume of traffic running on the oldest rail network in the world . Which suffered years of neglect by the thatcher government then was sold off to the private sector that just used it as a cash cow.we are playing catch up now but it will take years and plenty of money to upgrade it

Croe, it very much depends who owns your line. Some are very well run, others are absolute shit.

Re: RMT

Buy it is privately run, it should be wonderful! I mean you lot probably pissed and moaned when it was state controlled.
--------------------------

Erm Network Rail, the ones striking are not privately run.

The train service isn't idea now but it's a hell of a lot better than it was as British Rail.

Re: RMT
White pony, and that's got anything to with it how?. I can only speak for myself but I got a 3.3 % pay rise this year, so some of us are getting pay rises. If you didn't get one, I'd suggest you join a union they might be able to sort one out for you.

I agree to a certain extent but they do have more than their fair share of useless cretinous staff. They all need sorting out. They're all greedy cunts. I have zero sympathy for any of them.

Re: RMT
Yes, because everyone else is getting a pay rise at the moment, right?
